Knecht Guitars is owned and operated by Luthier Randy Knecht. Randy is a graduate
of
Summit School of Guitar Building and Repair in British Columbia, Canada. After his stay at the school Randy completed an internship at a guitar repair
shop in Umea, Sweden. Randy has studied under and beside some of the worlds best professional and amateur luthiers. He now builds
and repairs guitars and basses out of his private shop in Hackettstown, New Jersey.
Randy's skills are many and diverse. Covering all aspects of acoustic
and electric repair such as fretdress'; electronic rewiring, nut building and installation, acoustic pickup installation,
acoustic bridge building and replacement, neck adjustment, and guitar refinishing, just to name a few. Randy also builds his
electric, acoustic, and archtop guitars and basses from scratch. He uses no machines to do any of the process. Except saws
and sanders to speed up the process a little, everything is done by hand. This process ensures that every guitar
and bass is truly custom and hand built.
Randy is currently accepting orders for custom electric guitars and basses only, as well as covering all your repair needs.
